Casa Tara

Set right on the seafront of Marbella’s famous Golden Mile, Casa Tara is a whitewashed Andalusian villa where the lawn runs straight down to the Mediterranean. Wake up to sea views from the dining table, spend the day between the garden, the palm-fringed pool and the beach, and walk along the promenade to Puerto Banús for dinner. It’s a rare combination: a quiet, private home with the best of Marbella on the doorstep.

The house

Behind its arched porch and traditional wooden front door, Casa Tara opens into a bright, open-plan living and dining room with cream marble floors, a large corner sofa, a round glass dining table and full-height sliding doors framed by an arch that lead straight out to the covered terrace. The sea is in view from almost every seat.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped, with glossy white units, a double oven, induction hob, marble-effect splashback and a skylight. A breakfast bar for two sits beneath a wide picture window looking over the garden to the sea — the best spot in the house for a morning coffee.

Three comfortable bedrooms sleep six:

• Master bedroom – king-size bed, lit arched alcoves, built-in wardrobes and sliding doors to the outside. En-suite bathroom with bath, walk-in shower and twin basins.
• Twin bedroom – two single beds, a pink armchair by the window and a large built-in wardrobe. Bathroom with bath, walk-in shower and twin basins.
• Third bedroom – queen-size bed and a single bed, with a rattan headboard, blue linen, a desk and a tall oval mirror. En-suite shower room with walk-in rainfall shower.

All three bathrooms are recently refurbished in warm stone and grey marble tiles, with backlit mirrors and heated towel rails. The house has air conditioning throughout, fast Wi-Fi and free parking on site.

Outside

The covered terrace runs along the back of the house beneath a row of whitewashed arches, with rattan armchairs, a coffee table, a wooden dining table for al fresco meals and sun loungers in the shade. Beyond it, a private lawn edged with hibiscus and palms leads to a low hedge and the sea. A few steps away is the residents’ swimming pool, surrounded by palm trees and sun loungers and looking directly out over the water.

The location – Marbella Golden Mile

Casa Tara sits on the beachfront between Puente Romano and Puerto Banús, the stretch of coast that gives the Golden Mile its name. The seafront promenade passes the property, so you can stroll east to the Marbella Club and Puente Romano or west to the marina at Puerto Banús without getting in a car.

Eating out – some of the Costa del Sol’s best restaurants are within a few minutes:

• Puente Romano (approx. 1.5 km): Nobu, Leña by Dani García, Coya, Cipriani, Bibo, Thai Gallery, Sea Grill, GAIA and the beachside Chiringuito.
• Golden Mile: Lobito de Mar (seafood), Da Bruno a Casa (Italian), El Boquerón (tapas), Villa Tiberio, Sukhothai and the Marbella Club Grill.
• Beach clubs: Trocadero Playa, Victor’s Beach and MC Beach for long lunches by the sea.
• Puerto Banús (approx. 1.5–2 km): the marina’s waterfront bars and restaurants, plus Boho Club and La Sala.
• Marbella Old Town (approx. 5 km): traditional tapas bars around Plaza de los Naranjos and Skina, the two-Michelin-star restaurant.

Shops and everyday amenities – El Corte Inglés department store and the designer boutiques of Puerto Banús are around 2 km away; supermarkets (Supercor, Mercadona) are a short drive in Nueva Andalucía and Puerto Banús. Puente Romano’s tennis club, the Ralli Museum and Nagüeles natural park are all within a few minutes, and the Costa del Sol and Quirón hospitals are 10–15 minutes by car.

Casa Tara is a superb base for golfers. The “Golf Valley” of Nueva Andalucía is only about 10 minutes inland:
